I didn’t hate this book—it just felt more like a paper puppet show, the story moved left and right like a 2D Street fighter video game until everyone died. These fantasy-tale comparisons soon end when Carrie’s classmates set to humiliate her yet again. The pacing of the book was just right because of the various accounts and perspectives we get on the “black prom” and what exactly happened, and the scary scenes WERE scary.
