This book was written by the great-granddaughter of Alice Liddell, aka the girl who inspired Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Alice was sexually abused by her foster father and so was her adopted sister.
The cover showed a close up of a trainer walking out a door. These books can be read as stand alones. I read this book when I was almost 15 (weird, ha!). After details were noted at the police station, the Sergeant police officer suggested to both Alice and Tom, a solution to a problem. This book isn't so bad at all,but it feels a little weird 2 me. it was a book in the 60's or 70's about a girl who get into drugs and goes homeless and stuff, and im not talking about the new tv series. Two movies have been adapted by Disney, both called Alice in Wonderland. Barbara Hannay did a tremendous job on showing what this age group goes through, through times of grief.

Alice accepted the ride, still being cautious, but surely with 2 kiddies in the back (nieces apparently) she’ll be alright, and then there was the paperwork to consider, plus the looming doom of telling her parents that her big OE from America to Australia had flopped and then a “I told your so” attitude would be flung to her at no end.

It didn’t start off very well for Alice, a punctured tyre, a hijacking of her car from strangers that were meant to help, walking solo in the Australian heat and then a stranger in a car, stopping and yelling out if she is ok. Who was yelling out at Alice? Please help me find it. Take your favorite fandoms with you and never miss a beat. If you haven’t read any of Barbara Hannay’s books, this is a good one to start with, her romantic touch is warm and enveloping and I would say it’s like cuddling up in a polar fleece blanket on a cold winters day. I have to admit, and people who know me well know that I don’t cry over books, but near the ending my eyes did swell up and leave a watery rim around the edge of my eyes. I absolutely enjoyed the antics these two troublesome girls got up to and throughly enjoyed the haphazards that occurred (although in reality it would have been a nightmare!). Those poor kiddies had a terrible time of it before Alice came on the scene, gosh did I feel for those two poor souls. That's stamina.
