This encounter defines Stanley and Blanche's relationship. Blanche’s unraveling begins when her closeted husband commits suicide. Stella, Mitch and the landlady seem in agreement that Blanche is an innocent flower ravaged by wartime whom Stanley destroyed with his crude bullying.
